Sarasota offers an interesting
diversity of neighborhoods for every lifestyle
and price range, from downtown high-rise condominiums
overlooking the Bay, to historic neighborhoods
sprinkled with cottages and bungalows to sprawling
country club estates.
The barrier islands each have
their own unique character as well, from opulent
Longboat Key with its manicured fairways, to laid-back
Siesta Key with its tropical island feel.
An eclectic mix of architecture
includes Spanish Mediterranean, Old Florida and
contemporary designs, as well as examples of the
minimalist Sarasota School of Architecture. Most
Sarasota neighborhoods are within 15 minutes of
the water.
