Thank you for your letter of appreciation.  My husband and I would like to take this opportunity to commend our broker, Maureen Doherty, for her exceptional service in helping us to find and purchase our vacation home in Sarasota.   Our family has been regularly traveling to Sarasota for 20 years to visit my father.  Despite some familiarity with Sarasota property, I began my search for a vacation home on the internet and found the “James Brothers” real estate site very user friendly.  I sent an email inquiry on a Sunday afternoon, and Maureen quickly responded with a phone call although she was attending an important event.  Since that initial encounter, her responsiveness to my interest was exemplary in all respects.  Her knowledge of the market was comprehensive.  She was sensitive to our specific needs and pace.  Her communication skills were outstanding and she consistently went the “extra mile,” agreeing to meet with us over both the July 4th and Labor Day weekends.  When she broke her ankle, her husband Patrick capably stepped in for her while she provided backup instructions and ideas via her cell phone.  Additionally, she capably navigated the closing procedures, providing us with useful referrals.  When we arrived at our new apartment for the first time after the closing, we found gifts including champagne and elegant wines.

in September we closed on the purchase of a condominium in Sarasota. Maureen James Doherty was our agent and we promised her we would provide some feedback on our experience. Our home is in Canada and we had no real estate experience in the US, let alone Florida. By the way, we selected Michael Saunders & Co thanks to the excellent web-site your company features.

Last December Maureen was assigned to us to help us look at some properties in Sarasota during our first visit to this city. She spent a day with us showing us a good selection of properties while staying within the guidelines we had given her. The next morning she made herself available again to assist us in finding properties meeting new guidelines we had given her and arranging for showings. We returned to Canada very satisfied with the service we had received. She continued to stay in touch and in January we decided to enter into a purchase and sale agreement for a condominium, from which we ultimately withdrew as we did not want to get caught up in a bidding war. Again, she guided us through this process very efficiently and professionally. We were also grateful for some insight from her husband into the financial aspects of acquiring and owning real estate in Florida.

Several months later she alerted us to the fact that another opportunity had presented itself in the same building and even took some pictures for us. Again, we entered into a purchase and sale agreement and this time there was a successful outcome, notwithstanding that it was a short sale. All through the process she was efficient in dealing with our emails and available whenever we needed her.
